What's New?

Horner I/O Systems Update

The recent release of SmartRail I/O (for CsCAN and Ethernet systems) and SmartBlock modules significantly increased the number of I/O choices the user can make when designing their Application.

This has caused a significant change in handling of I/O by the XL series controllers. Typically the average XL controller applications was dealing with around points of I/O. Now even the most compact XLe can easily operate 300+ I/O points.

Here's a quick summary of what's available from the Smart range:

SmartBlock- NEW! CAN based system for advanced measurement including Power Monitoring

SmartRail - Ethernet/CsCAN Sliced I/O system (high density)

SmartStix - mass I/O system operating on CAN network

SmartMod- Modbus expansion to complement built-in I/O, especially on XL series of controllers

SmartStack - snap-on type of modules that can be attached directly at the back of a controller (RCX, QX and NX only)

Application of the Month - Water Treatment

Water treatment application can mean a whole range of automation solutions. From a standalone station supervising a single pump to more complicated system of multiple stations with a two-way communication. Here, we are going to look at the case of a double-pump station, which is being constantly polled for data from the centralized SCADA system.

We present :

Horner Gems - Remote Monitoring

Access your application from a very user-friendly interface, no programming skills required! Envision RV (RV stands for Remote Viewing) is a PC software that allows you to interact with your unit just as you would, standing in front of it. Browse through the screens, modify all changeable values, use function keys - no restrictions. Envision works over Serial, CAN, Ethernet and Wireless connection.

Envision RV 3.1 features:

Real-time connectivity to OCS
3 levels of security per screen
Project utility allows you to easily organize device files

Enrico Guasco - Horner Mediterranean

Electrical Engineer graduate, born in 1956. Enrico is in automation business for more than thirty years now and is representing Horner first in Italy and then in the Mediterranean region since 2003. With a good understanding of all automation components, like PLC, HMI, sensors, drives etc. Enrico is an important member to our Horner Support team.
